After college, Justus started his real estate experience by working as an oil and gas landman in the Permian and Unita Basins running title on and leasing mineral interests.

He then attended law school in Fort Worth at Texas Wesleyan School of Law (now Texas A&M School of Law).  In law school, Justus continued working in oil and gas through internships and volunteered for the Wesleyan Innocence Project and National Adoption Day.

After law school, Justus continued working in real estate as an in-house attorney navigating unique title issues in the residential mortgage sector.

Justus is an avid outdoorsman and enjoys spending time on the family ranch in Carson County Texas, hunting, fishing, boating, and hiking.   He and his wife and two daughters currently live in Fort Worth.

He is admitted to practice before all Texas and New Mexico courts, as well as the District and Bankruptcy Courts for the Northern District of Texas.
